Meriken Park/Harbor Land
Tourist spot with far extending views of the seaport, Kobe
Now being reconstructed, Meriken Park had been a landing place of foreign cargoes when the Port of Kobe opened. It is where Kobe Port tower and Port of Kobe Earthquake memorial Park are both located. The western side of Meriken Park is called Harbor Land, an entertainment complex where people enjoy shopping, recreation, and gourmet food eateries all at one place. You can also enjoy cruising around Kobe Port.

Nankin Machi (China Town)
Bustling China Town
More than 100 of various stores including restaurants and grocery shops line up in an area of 300 m from east to west, and 100 m from north to south. China Town is always bustling with people. Once you step into the town from magnificent Choanmon gate in the west end, there is a tantalizing smell. You can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine or even fast food. Also, all sorts of Chinese ingredients are available at nearby grocery shops.

Kitano Ijinkan-gai (Historic Western Residences)
An exotic town with western-style residential houses
Kitano Ijinkan-gai is just north of Sannomiya where foreigners settled after the opening of the Port of Kobe. Some of the western-style buildings are open to the public., And restaurants and cafes serving a wide variety of cuisine.

Sake Breweries in Nada
Japan's No.1 home of Sake that has been known since the old days
Nada go gou, or five areas in the Nada district have been called the best sake brewing area in Japan. Nishi-gou, Mikage-gou, and Uozaki-gou in Kobe city are lumped together as San-gou, while Nishinomiya-gou and Imazu-gou in Nishinomiya city are called as Ni-gou. In the San-gou area in Kobe city, you can not only visit reference libraries and museums of Sake brewing, but also enjoy Sake tasting in some of the breweries.

The Floating Garden Observatory
Commanding view of the Osaka Plains from 170m above ground
The building has an aerial garden observatory, about 170m above the ground, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view from Osaka city to Awaji Island. There is a gourmet town 'Takimi-koji' which is a reconstruction of Osaka's olden alleys. There is HEP FIVE nearby, popular for its bright red giant Ferris wheel.

Dotombori
The neon-glittering town where you eat yourself out of house and home
Dotombori area is a busy town with all sorts of fine restaurants. Dotombori was created when a merchant, Mr. Doton Yasui had developed a natural river to a canal in the beginning of the Edo period (1615-1868). As Dotombori became the most famous place for Japanese plays, or Shibai, restaurants and eateries began to prosper. Since then this place has always thrived as a town of food.
