Tottori Sand Dunes
Artistic beauty of nature created by the sand and wind
The Tottori Sand Dunes offer various sceneries, which are sometimes dynamic and other times tranquil. Visitors will find fumon, saren, and other picturesque patterns formed by the wind on the sand. These patterns change every time the wind blows, creating an artistic beauty of nature. Especially in the early morning, visitors may be overwhelmed by the scale and beauty of the dunes, whose entire surface is embellished with the wind-swept patterns newly created on the sand overnight and not yet walked upon. The dunes also offer a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Sea of Japan, enabling visitors to enjoy the subtle and constantly changing colors of the sea and sky.
