Enjoy the beauty of Kimono
The museum provides various hands-on classes that lets you have a direct exposure to the tradition of kimono, i.e., a weaving demonstration of Nishijin textiles, an exhibition and sale of Nishijin textiles, a hand weaving experience, and a fitting demonstration of dance costume and ceremonial robe. You will be able to enjoy the tradition of Japan's kimono culture.

Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum
The Museum where real steam locomotives run
The museum was opened on the 100th anniversary of the start of railway operation in Japan. The museum displays 18 major steam locomotives that were made between 1914 to 1948 and operated in many places in Japan. Locomotive exhibitions run 3 times a day. Enjoyable for both kids and adults alike.

Kyoto National Museum
Housing approximately 10,000 pieces of valuable cultural assets
It houses plenty of archaeological materials and antiques from Japan, China and other Oriental countries, and the exhibition, preservation and research of cultural assets are carried out here. Nearby is the Sanjusangendo, well-known for the 1001 statues of multi-armed deities.

Nara National Museum
Housing a collection of masterpieces of Buddhist art
The museum was built in 1895 following the opening of the Tokyo National Museum. The Main Hall (important cultural property), made of brick, is famous as an example of Western-style architecture in the Mid-Meiji Period. The collection of Buddhist art here is considered the best in both quality and quantity in Japan.

Museum designed by I. M. Pei
Exhibiting antiquities from around the world, the museum is also very popular among visitors from abroad. Maestro I.M. Pei was responsible for the concept and design of the museum, and about 80% of the building volume has been laid underground to retain nature as much as possible.
