Sennichimae Doguya-suji
The shopping district where you can buy every possible cooking utensil
This is a street lined with specialist selling all sorts of cooking devices, fixtures, sign-boards, or whatever else is needed to run a restaurant or fast food store. Doguya-suji came about around 1882 when second hand stores and general stores began business along the street from Sennichimae in Hozenji to Odaishi-san in Tennoji Temple and Imamiya Ebisu Shrine. Plastic food is popular as gifts.

National Bunraku Theater
A breathtaking dolls' play
The theater is a home for Kamigata performing arts including Bunraku, a Japanese puppet show which is a world's intangible cultural heritage registered by UNESCO, classical Japanese dance, music and other dramatic performances. Nearby is the Kuromon Market where you can get various ingredients from around the country.

Nippombashi Denden Town
One of Kansai's best towns of electrical appliance shops
The town of electrical appliance retailers rivals Tokyo's Akihabara. There are about 200 shops large and small along Sakaisuji Street and its vicinities where you can buy everything from consumer electronics to PC and audio products. Haggling with the shop assistant is one of the funs of shopping too.

Tsutenkaku Tower
Osaka's symbolic tower
Tsutenkaku is known as the symbolic tower of Osaka. The somewhat nostalgic atmosphere of the area is popular with youngsters and tourists. Nearby is Spa-world, where you can enjoy baths from around the world and swimming pools of the world's largest scale.

Osaka Municipal Museum of Art
Houses works by Hokusai Katsushika and Korin Ogata
The museum is in the grounds of Tennoji Park. In 1921, it was built on the grounds of the main residence donated by the Sumitomo family to Osaka City. It has a collection of 8,000 pieces of artwork, mainly oriental and Japanese art, including national treasures and important cultural assets. Keitakuen, the pure Japanese style garden of the main residence of the Sumitomo family is open to the public, and nearby is the Tennoji Zoo.

Shitennoji Temple
Japan's oldest shogunate's temple
The oldest large-scale temple in Japan which was built in 593 by Shotokutaishi. The temple is laid out in a style which features the following layout of buildings: the middle gate, the five-storied pagoda, the main hall and the lecture hall are aligned from south to north, and corridors are positioned around these structures. This represents one of the oldest architectural styles in Japan. The origins of their design can be found in China and the Korean Peninsula. The buildings are regarded as valuable models which convey the continental temple style of the sixth and seventh centuries to the present. Monthly festive event, Otaishi-san is held on 21st and the temple grounds are filled with a variety of stalls.
